ENT Appointment

Today the twins had a follow up appointment with the ENT from a month ago when they couldn't see in their ears due to wax. Today they still could not see in Calebs ears but ended up doing a pressure test in his ears. We found out that his right tube is out and he still has his left tube. Since he has not been having any problems we will go with out tubes and see what happens. Isaac on the other hand, he's had a few more infections and we already have a surgery scheduled for July 29th for some dental work and some scar repairs so we will have the ENT clean out Isaac's ears and determine if he needs more tubes while he's under. The boys DO NOT like what the ENT does or anything to do with their ears for that matter.

AND OUR BIG NEWS is that today was the first day that Tom and I had the twins walk to and from their appointment. We always take them everywhere in their double stroller but today they were walkers.

Our 14 Year Anniversary

Its so hard to believe that Tom and I have been married for 14 years already. July 1, 1995 was our big day. The time has gone so quickly and yet he's still the man I've always dreamed of. He's a wonderful husband, he's the best father I could have ever asked for and he's a great friend who can make me laugh and be silly like we're teenagers yet. I admire him for his hard work as a CPA. Lord knows that I would be laying my head down on folded arms on the desktop snoozing if I had to look at all those numbers all day long. He has achieved more that we ever talked about when we were in our dreaming stages of life and in such a short amount of time. He's a partner at a good firm here in town, he's a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and he's the treasurer at our church. He has come so far and without any complaints of his long hard hours...its been me complaining of that...lol. His efforts have allowed me to be a stay at home mom to our five children and that's the best gift he could ever think of giving me. I am so happy with my life, with my husband, with my children that I thank God daily for blessing me with such a wonderful life. We have struggles just like any other couple, but with our faith in God and our love and respect for each other we have conquered many obstacles together.

Looking back I laugh at the things we expected from our lives. I never would have thought we would have five children. Tom is from a family of five children and I always thought they had such a big family. I never would have thought we would have twins, or for that matter twins with special needs. I so enjoy remembering how we used to map out our plans for where we were headed in life and be disappointed that it didn't go as planned. I am so thankful that God has had this amazing journey already mapped out for us. I am going to sit back and enjoy the ride and hope that we have at least another 40 years to enjoy it together.

My funny for the day is that I took the girls to a dentist appointment. I always dread dental exams as we do not have dental insurance. I took $175 in cash with me hoping that maybe...just maybe.. I would have a few extra bucks left over to run to the store and buy Tom something. Well, after the girls were done with their appointment..cleaning, fluoride, x-rays, and one extraction(it was a wiggly baby tooth and cost us $70!!)......I went to the desk to hear the total amount for the appointment was $453!!!! OUCH!! So needless to say, Tom just got a kiss and a hug and a love ya honey from his wife this year. You know what?? He loved it :)

Love Ya Tom!!

Twin Brotherly Love at Naptime

Most days being a mom to identical twins is so much fun. Really!! They are just two identical twin boys with very un-identical personalities. They look alike but act so different, they eat in the same way but like different foods, they watch tv with the same crook in their neck and funny expressions on their faces, but often want to watch something different than brother, its just so cool to get the chance to witness God's miracle with twins. They may have the same DNA makeup but boy are they different. The other day they were taking their daily nap and I went into the room to wake them up so we could head off to the playground to enjoy the nice weather when I happened upon this adorable picture:

Now if that is not an AWWWWWW moment for everyone, then I don't know what is.

HELP me decide

The twins had their photo shoot done for the 2010 Down Syndrome Association of Pittsburgh calender done last weekend and I'm torn as to which photo I want to choose to put in it, so I decided to come to my blogger friends to get a poll going of which on you like. Please leave a comment with your choice for which photo I should select. I only have another week to decide...so c'mon vote!!

Plumbers Butts

Today was a warm day and I thought it would a good idea just to let the twins run around in their diaper for a bit. Well, they are getting bigger and they are learning how to pull down their britches a bit these days. I was folding and putting away laundry and passed the living room and saw this view and had to capture it...

They were both watching HeeHaw, which is their FAVORITE show right now, anyone who knows this show would agree they make pretty darned good Hilly Billy Babies....LOL

Oh Pickle Juice!!!

The girls love to get their brother, and sometimes its hard for me (as the responsible adult) not to get a huge laugh out of what they did. This is especially the case when they take photos and we have proof....lol

My girls both like to drink the pickle juice out of the dill pickle jar. I used to do this too when I was a kid, but can't really tolerate it now. Anyway, Elijah saw a glass of Mountain Dew, or so he thought, on the counter and decided to drink it. The girls just happened to have the camera ready to go, knowing their brother never asks who's drink is sitting on the table and if he can have a drink of it. It was very comical and I thought I would share. He must have been very thirsty cause he slugged it right down.

Fun Day

School has been out for almost a week now and I'm just getting around to posting these. (Actually I'm a month behind on blogging.....I'm bad) The kids had a great time at their fun day this year. The theme was Boot Camp and the PTA put on a wonderful event for the kids. The weather was not the greatest, but despite the rain the kids still went outside and enjoyed themselves. The PTA provided each child in the school with t-shirts, dog tags, bandana's and camo sunglasses. They looked so great I had to take pictures.
